INTRODUCTION

This is a simple blog which I've called GO TO LANCING and is designed to be a quick search engine for links to websites connected with Lancing, specifically those connected with the regeneration of the village and nearby areas. I thought it would be a good idea to put all the links in one place so that anyone shopping for information about Lancing will just need to go to one site without having to trawl through favourites or Google or search in darkness. All you have to do is type into your favoured search engine or Google: "gotolancing" then select GO TO LANCING which will bring you to this site. Save to 'favourites' and updates will be automatically on site whenever you visit GO TO LANCING....at  "gotolancing.blogspot.co.uk"

The list is not exhaustive and will be updated over time but since there is such a profusion of sites I thought it might be good to have them all listed in one place so that anyone new to the regeneration of Lancing, or those who need or want to be kept updated on latest developments simply need to hit one site to gain access to all the others. There is a brief description of each link to make sourcing the information as simple as possible.....

All of the sites are based on those that I have accessed over the past year and those that have been linked from the Lancing Regeneration Facebook page. If anyone requires their listing to be removed or added please let me know....Chris D.

Here is a link to a facebook page called The Lancing Local. It has been set up by Andrea Ballance, also known as Bloomers Macoy. It is designed to be an online diary that advertises events. Andrea has set the page up to allow all internet users know what's going on in Lancing - and when - and for word of mouth to pass on the details. If you want to plan your days ahead in Lancing check out The Lancing Local. And if you have an event to advertise don't forget to add your details....

Here's how it works :

" The way the page works... Lancing Local will post up a date e.g. Saturday 26th January, 2013... then groups, events and sharers can put their event under the right date with the time and place. This way we can think, what is going on on Saturday? Click Saturday and then we will be able to scroll through that days advertisements and shares." (The Lancing Local)....

Sompting Village recently won £1million to go towards the regeneration of their village. This money must be spent by the community and not by any political representatives at local or national platforms. The idea is to galvanise local communities to get together and create projects and ideas that will be of benefit to the whole community. This is a government directive that must be fulfilled by local communities. There should be no interference from any govermental source. It is incumbent on the community area awarded the money to come up with ideas and for those ideas to be put forward for authorisation and release of funds for the projects to become reality. This money is awarded over a ten year period at £100,000 per year.

Electric Storm Youth (ESY) has a vision to build a brand new facility for young people on the former Freshbrook School site off Grinstead Lane which lies close to North Road, Lancing and the A27 Lancing roundabout.

"We want to offer the young people of our community facilities and services that are right at the heart of youth culture. We want to offer them something amazing. We want to give them a home from home. We want to see it staffed with people who are deeply passionate about seeing young people learn for themselves, and lead a life that they find fulfilling, rewarding and above all else, fun." (electricstormyouth.co.uk)...
